Pablo Pérez-Fernández, Ph.D
Senior Executive Director, Global Equity Research
Since April 2007, Dr. Pablo Pérez-Fernández has led Global Crown Capital's wireless research practice. He comes to GCC from the G2 Group/Sagio Investments, where he was Director of Research and the head of Risk Management. In addition, Dr. Pérez-Fernández acted as the co-CEO of Detto Technologies, a software company controlled by the G2 Group. During his tenure as Detto's co-CEO, the firm completed three M&A transactions, completely changed its business strategy, and was awarded the largest contract in its history.
Prior to the G2 Group/Sagio Investments, he was the Senior Wireless Analyst at the Stanford Group and ThinkEquity Partners, where he developed a faithful institutional following for his detailed, value-added research on the wireless industry. Dr. Pérez-Fernández started his Wall Street career as an associate in the #1 ranked telecom equipment team at Sanford Bernstein. Prior to Bernstein he was a Strategy Consultant to Fortune 500 companies at the Mitchell Madison Group. He started his professional career at the Raytheon Systems Company as a Senior Radar Engineer working on internal research projects on space time adaptive processing and advanced signal processing algorithms. Dr. Pérez-Fernández holds a bachelor's degree in pure Mathematics from Yale University and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of California in Los Angeles.
Tero Kuittinen
Senior Executive Director, Global Equity Research
Mr. Kuittinen joined Global Crown Capital from Avian Securities, where he was a managing director in charge of the telecom research. Mr. Kuittinen began his telecom career in 1999 as one of the founders of a pioneering mobile entertainment start-up company, SpringToys, in Helsinki. He worked as a senior strategist in the mobile content sector and as a telecom research analyst in one of Scandinavia’s largest banking groups, Osuuspankki, until 2003. That year he joined the telecom research group of Paul Sagawa at Sanford C. Bernstein in New York; Mr. Kuittinen has continued working on Wall Street covering the telecom sector since then.
Over the past decade, Mr. Kuittinen has become one of the most widely recognized Finnish experts on the mobile handset industry, quoted regularly in the European and US media and giving presentations in telecom conferences from Los Angeles and Las Vegas to Dublin and Helsinki. He taps into the collective intelligence of his extensive network of start-up, operator and financial sector contacts in Europe and Asia – a network of mobile handset professionals he began constructing back in 1996. Tero Kuittinen received a Master’s degree in biochemistry and was enrolled in a neurobiology Ph.D. program at the University of Helsinki when the mobile telecom revolution sweeping Finland persuaded him to change career tracks.
David Patterson
Chief Technical Strategist, Global Crown Technical Analytics, LLC
Mr. Patterson has been the head of GCC's Technical Analytics group since 2004. Mr. Patterson is recognized internationally for having developed highly customized technical trading strategies and programs, which have been successfully implemented in a variety of financial markets (e.g., commodity and equity markets). The world's largest petrochemical companies, including Shell, BP, ChevronTexaco and ConocoPhillips are among his consulting service clients, a practice he has had since 1978. Mr. Patterson developed a sophisticated, proprietary software package, and PICS to support his trading advisory services to Global Crown Capital. He holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Houston.
David Wu
Senior Executive Director, Global Equity Research
Mr. Wu joined Global Crown Capital in January 2005 from Wedbush Morgan Securities where he was a Senior Vice President and a Senior Research Analyst covering the Semiconductor Industry. Prior to that, he was the Director of Technology Equity Research at ABN AMRO Inc., a Computer Hardware Analyst at SG Warburg & Co and Montgomery Securities, and a Semiconductor and Electronics Analyst at IDS/American Express. Mr. Wu has been ranked on Wall Street Journal All Stars list four times. He is a CFA and holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of London an MBA in Finance from the Wharton Business School.
